Bodies of Evidence is one of the most disturbing documentaries Al Jazeera has released on Israel’s prison system.
It begins with a scandal that should have shaken the world: Israeli soldiers accused of sexually abusing a Palestinian detainee at Sde Teiman saw the charges dropped. The documentary then shows why that case was not an exception — it was a window.
Through detainee testimony, lawyer accounts, human-rights documentation, and legal analysis, the film describes rape, sexual torture, forced naked searches, abuse of minors, rape with dogs, starvation, beatings, filmed humiliation, and total impunity inside Israeli detention systems.
